I’ve worked in communications my entire career, from the public to the private sector, from education to professional sports. I’ve been lucky to interact with people from all backgrounds in a variety of fields. It’s given me more patience and the ability to ebb and flow, pivot and pause. My previous position as a journalist and public relations professional has helped me become a better listener and see others’ perspectives with an open mind and heart.
I found my role in nonprofit fundraising for a college foundation especially rewarding. So many people are denied opportunities to go to college due to cost. Watching students, specifically first-generation and former foster kids, cross the stage at graduation inspired and gratified me.

I’m passionate about keeping our waters clean and making sure people have access to clean water, so am a lifetime member of the Surfrider Foundation. I’m also passionate about my community and volunteer for The IF Project, a collaboration of currently and formerly incarcerated adults, community partners, and law enforcement focused on holistic intervention and the reduction and prevention of incarceration and recidivism.
