I have firsthand experience with lawyers, and with divorce. I was married to an attorney for 15 years, then was divorced with three children under the age of 10. I vowed that I would never marry another attorney or work for a law firm.

Fast forward to the year after I finished graduate school. I started working as an implementation consultant for a software company that developed accounting software for law firms. In my role, I trained attorneys and the accounting staff to use the software. I did this for six years, and then Molly recruited me and asked me to join DuBois Levias.

It took finding the perfect law firm to get me to amend the second part of my vow. DuBois Levias treats you like a family member. Their flexible structure, like the option to work in a hybrid or fully remote working environment, allows you to put family first.

Before I got my master’s degree, I worked in international trade and banking. I started with Seafirst National Bank, which then merged with Bank of America. While there, I was a supervisor of the Tacoma International Trade office.

I was raised in a town of 3,000 people in Libby, Montana. After high school, I came to Seattle to study at Seattle University, and have been a Pacific Northwest convert ever since.

I enjoy our four seasons, and even though I’m not a big fan of our gray days in winter, everything else makes living here more than worth it. I love the water, I love being able to hop on a ferry or drive to a beach, and I’m a big fan of the endless seafood and coffee options. I love my Starbucks only because it’s the most convenient but am also so grateful for our independent coffee stands.

Outside of work, I’m a cheering dance and band mom. A lot of my time goes to sporting events, as my son played in the marching and pep band and my youngest daughter is on the high school dance team. I have three amazing children—a daughter who is a junior at Seattle Pacific University, a son who started his freshman year at Gonzaga, and a daughter who is a sophomore in high school. I also have a cat, a dog, and 17 rabbits. At one point, my kids and I were all involved with 4-H and raising rabbits.

Today, my oldest daughter and I are proud to be leaders for the Bellevue area 4-H club, which I’ve served as a leader with for the past four years. My oldest daughter and I have fun attending rabbit shows with the rabbits we raise for 4-H. I also enjoy adventuring to wineries and tasting rooms and sampling wine.
