“Mei is outstanding!! I can’t express enough how I sincerely felt as if she was my angel. She was instantly received as genuinely caring and professional. She legitimately cared about me, my situation and my family. She was worth the world at such a heart breaking time where I felt my whole life had no hope. My situation required major patience and someone who stuck solely by me without falling victim to the charms of my partner. Someone who stood by me while I dealt with the roller coaster emotions involved. However, she was compassionate to us both and not judgmental in the least. She was extremely professional and instantly full of options and directions for us to choose from. With her guidance we were able to avoid trial and come to an agreement within a short time (So sad I didn’t find her sooner!). Mei was there for me not only as a professional legal and very smart attorney but as truly, my Angel. I simply love her! Plan on using her again soon to update my will as well. And I will follow her wherever she goes. Any firm that gets her is beyond lucky!!" ~ Warmly, T.V.

After graduating from the University of California Davis, with my B.A. in International Relations and East Asian Studies, I moved to Beijing China to learn to speak Mandarin Chinese. When I returned to the United States, I began working at a law firm in downtown San Francisco and soon realized that the legal field was the path for me. I earned my law degree from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California in 2010. There are several aspects of my experience that make me unique in the way I practice law.

Little did I know, I had been preparing to be a lawyer from a young age. As a first generation Chinese-American, I helped my non-English speaking parents navigate cultural barriers that affected many aspects of their lives in the United States. From an early age, I translated legal documents, explained technical terminology, and experienced first-hand the challenges that my parents faced as new immigrants. Now I have a translational skill that makes my legal practice unique.

In addition, I am passionate about food allergy safety and education. I didn’t know where to turn to when I discovered my boys had life threatening allergies. I immediately immersed myself in resources and started educating my family, the kids’ caretakers and schools, and anyone else who had contact with my children about food safety. I even ran an organic allergy free bakery so my children wouldn’t be left out at birthday parties and other occasions. I understand how important it is to help parents minimize the impact of life’s unexpected complexities on their children’s lives.

I am also dedicated to educating people and arming them with resources to make the best choices in their situation. During law school, I volunteered for the Community Law Project in San Diego, a non-profit that provides free legal clinics to low income and indigent communities. I also taught juveniles in a detention facility how to resolve differences without getting physical. Today, I am a board member of the International Families Justice Coalition, a non-profit organization that provides legal assistance and representation to immigrants and foreign nationals that do not speak English who are involved in issues that require a family law attorney. I love it and find this work very rewarding.

I know that dealing with legal issues can be very confusing and arduous. It is my goal to simplify the process for you. I will help you navigate through those uncomfortable topics and answer all your difficult questions. I am very comfortable working with individuals in the Chinese community. I am here to serve the Seattle Chinese market with spoken fluency in three Chinese dialects: Mandarin, Cantonese and Taishanese.

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area with my large extended family. I loved spending the summers with my cousins going to amusement parks and grabbing dinners on a random Tuesday evening. Even though I have moved around quite a bit for school and work, I am still very close to my family. I am glad to call Seattle my home now.

My husband and I love exploring the Pacific Northwest – hiking, kayaking, and discovering all the many parks in the area with our two boys. We love traveling as a family and learning about different cultures. Some of the amazing places we explored include Indonesia, Turkey, Czech Republic and Cuba. My other passion is baking delicious desserts for my friends and family, allergy friendly or not.
